Dear Friends,
I founded the Foster5K 9 years ago with my friend Joy Erf. I was on the Board of Child Advocates of Silicon Valley and wanted to raise both AWARENESS and FUNDS for children in foster care. As my friends know, my children are adopted from foster care and over the years I've learned just how tough it can be to have had adverse early childhood experiences - especially if you do not return to your family or are adopted into a loving home.
The Foster5K has grown over the years and is now a timed 5K that includes a fun Kids Dash! The 9th Annual Foster5K will be on Sunday, April 27 at Martial Cottle Park. Will you join my walking team or donate? My goal is to 2x+ my personal donation of $500. Will you support my fundraising goal by making a donation?
Why Child Advocates of Silicon Valley? I am involved with them because they their goal is to ensure every child in the Santa Clara County Dependency Court System (foster care) has a caring, stable adult in their life to mitigate the effects of having experienced abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment. They do this through the Court Appointed Special Advocate program (CASA program).
